David Adelman


David I. Adelman is an American lawyer, diplomat, and legislator. He was the United States Ambassador to the Republic of Singapore from 2010 to 2013. Currently, he is a partner in the global law firm Reed Smith LLP working out of the firms New York office and regularly traveling to the firms offices in Asia.

David Adelman was born in New York City on May 24, 1964. He attended The Lovett School in Atlanta, Georgia. He received his ABJ from the University of Georgia in 1986, a JD from Emory University in 1989 and an MPA from Georgia State University in 1995. He was recognized with a Henry Grady Fellowship by the University of Georgia. Adelman also taught in the Honors Program in the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia. Georgia State University honored Adelman with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Adelman was the commencement speaker at the University of Georgia in 2010. He served as a member of the Board of Visitors of Emory University. He is a member of the Board of Visitors of the School of Public and International Affairs at the University of Georgia.
